Across the Division, students engaged in meaningful learning that built literacy and numeracy skills, encouraged problem‑solving, and strengthened confidence. From Learning Strategies at Assumption, to one‑to‑one literacy instruction at Holy Cross, to Grade 5/6 goal setting in Wellness at Holy Family, to numeracy work and shared reading at École Notre Dame Elementary, classrooms remained focused on learning that supports the whole child — academically, socially, and spiritually.
Students who were unable to attend were provided with learning activities to support continued learning from home.
Thank you to our families, staff, and students for their dedication to learning today. The day reinforced the importance of consistency and connection for students.

Emergency Response Update – St. Dominic Elementary School
Earlier today, St. Dominic Elementary School implemented a lockdown as a precautionary measure in response to a concern outside of the school building.
The RCMP responded promptly, were present at the school, and managed the situation thoroughly. Following their assessment, the RCMP have confirmed that there is no ongoing risk, and the school community is safe.
We are grateful for the professionalism and swift action of the RCMP, as well as for the calm cooperation of our students and staff as established emergency procedures were followed.
Thank you to our families and community for your continued support, understanding, and compassion.

❄️ Winter Weather & LCSD School Days ❄️
As winter weather sets in, we want families to feel informed and supported when conditions change. Our Transportation Department monitors road conditions, visibility, extreme cold, and weather warnings early each morning, with conditions assessed daily at 6:00 a.m.
On winter weather days, bus cancellations may occur, while schools remain open, and learning continues for students who can attend safely.
When morning bus cancellations occur, an afternoon transportation update will be provided if conditions are expected to change. In cases of severe or sustained extreme cold, bus cancellations may remain in place for the full day.
