LCSD celebrates teaching excellence! Melanie Ellis integrates numeracy into her Grade 1 morning routines, engaging students in exploring "days of school" through number lines, tally marks, and more. This student-led approach fosters collaboration, confidence, and a love for math!

Our Cold Lake schools had the honour of hosting Bishop Gary & Fr. Nong today! Student tour guides were exceptional, proud ambassadors of their school & Catholic education. Classes had lovely discussions with our guest about Advent and shared their learnings about Chemistry & Physics labs, a Novel Study, a mock UN debate, and “Mary on the Mantel”! They also enjoyed a heartfelt, home cooked Stew with Staff for lunch! Bishop Gary is in Cold Lake today to offer the Sacrament of Confirmation for children of St. Dominic & Assumption Parishes.

Reminder: Lost and Found Policy
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today, November 27, marks the final day for parent-teacher interviews, and we encourage you to check the Lost and Found during your visit to St. Dominic School.
All Lost and Found items have been organized on tables in the school entrance for easy access. These items will remain on display until the middle of next week, after which they will be packed up and donated to a charitable organization.
To help prevent lost items in the future, we encourage labeling personal belongings such as clothing, mittens, boots, and lunch boxes. Please also remind your child to avoid bringing valuables like cell phones, electronics, or large sums of money to school. If bringing a valuable item is necessary, it should be left at the school office for safekeeping.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
Sincerely,
St. Dominic School

Today, 160 student faith leaders from all 8 schools gathered at St. Louis Hall and Church for a Rally of Hope! Through collaboration, leadership, and faith, they renewed the spirit of hope as we prepare for Advent. 🕯️Together, they’re ready to inspire and lead their communities.

Calling all creative minds! Our 'Design Our 2025 LCSDChristmas Card' contest is open to K-12 students across our division. Unleash your holiday spirit and have a chance to see your design shine! Check with your school for submission details. We can’t wait to see your creations!

The weather is colder…
The weather is colder, and we are still outside for recess unless the temperature is -25°C or colder, including windchill. Please send your child dressed for the weather. Snow pants, a coat, a hat, mittens, and winter boots are a necessity now. Parents/Guardians, please make sure your child is ready to play outdoors because we have two outdoor recesses daily and an outdoor recess after school while waiting for buses.

Good morning Families!
As we celebrate the last day of Catholic Education Week with a meaningful prayer walk, we ask that you ensure your children are dressed warmly for the weather. Layers, jackets, and comfortable footwear will help them enjoy the day fully, as we’ll be outside accompanying each other in silent reflection.
Further, with colder days coming, please remember to dress your children warmly for the bus and recess as well so they can enjoy their playtime comfortably and safely.
Thank you for helping us make this week one to remember and supporting our school in keeping our students safe and warm. ✝️💙
