Lakeland Catholic Schools Mourns Pope Francis
Novena for the Repose of His Holiness (Day 3)
Merciful and loving God, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and sorrow as we remember Your servant, Pope Francis. You called him to be a shepherd to Your people, a voice for the poor, and a sign of Your mercy to the world. As we entrust him to Your eternal care, we ask You to welcome him into the joy of Your heavenly kingdom. Grant him peace, and give us strength to carry forward the light of his witness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Gratitude for His Life: We give thanks, O Lord, for the life of Pope Francis, for his witness to humility and mercy, and for his care for the poor and creation.
Faithful Shepherd: We pray in thanksgiving for his years of ministry, that he may now receive the reward of his faithful service.
Servant of Peace: We reflect on his message of peace, dialogue, and fraternity among peoples. May we carry this legacy forward.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be…
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

🚲 Spring Bike Safety Reminder for Families
With the warmer spring weather, more students are starting to ride their bikes to school. We’re excited to see our students being active and enjoying the outdoors!
To help ensure everyone’s safety on and around school property, please remind your child of the following bike safety guidelines:
Dismount and walk bikes when on school grounds and sidewalks. Riding is not permitted in these areas to help keep all students and staff safe.
Use bike helmets – it’s the law in Alberta for anyone under 18, and it’s an important part of safe riding.
Lock bikes securely in the designated bike racks.
Be aware of traffic, follow all road signs, and cross streets carefully.

Update on Bus Cancellations: LCSD buses will run this afternoon as weather conditions improve.
Thank you to all families for ensuring a safe arrival this morning and supporting a productive day of learning, whether in school or through Google Classroom.
Please check the bus status app before pickup, as there is always the possibility of sudden cancellation, to ensure your child's bus is running.
LCSD Morning Bus Cancellations:
Bus service to Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche and Waskatenau are cancelled this morning, but schools remain open, and learning continues as scheduled.
Student safety remains our priority. Please travel carefully if you are driving your child to school. For those unable to attend, assignments will be available in Google Classroom to ensure learning continues for an instructional day.
We will provide an afternoon bus update later today.
We look forward to seeing everyone who can attend!
